Mrs. Flossie Mae Finney-Beck

Flossie Mae Finney Beck was born March 27, 1941, in England, Arkansas to the late Rena Allen- Finney and Fletcher Finney Sr. She was the second child of 13 children. Her siblings loved her dearly and affectionately called her, “Sis” and “Mother Beck”. She loved the Lord, and she professed her hope in Christ at a young age. She was a member of Living Water Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth D. Finney. She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Eric Maurice Beck, Jr. who proceeded her in death. She departed this life on August 22, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was predeceased by her, parents; three brothers, Arthur Dean Finney (died at birth), John Henry Robinson, and Fletcher Finney Jr and one sister, Pauline Finney-Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Andre Harris of Little Rock and Dewayne Edward Johnson (Lea) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Broderick Knight, Janice Kelly, Marcus Harris, Mason Calloway all of Little Rock; Cyree Dixon, Ceryiah Johnson, and Israel Johnson all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Nakeia Harris of Columbus, Georgia; six brothers, Edward Finney (Vivian) of Star City, Arkansas, Willie Finney of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Floyd Finney of Freemont, California, H.L. Finney, Harvey Finney (Vickie), and Rev. Kenneth Finney (Verna) all of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sisters, Dorothy Finney-Williams, Carolyn Finney-Bernard (Gary) both of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a devoted cousin, Corean Alford and a host of other relatives and friends. For most of her life, Flossie Mae Finney Beck shared her gift for cooking with her family and friends. She also dedicated her work life to the food service industry. In her early career, she worked for the Little Rock School District in food services and later retired in 2005 from the Veterans Administration. During retirement, she continued to spread her love of cooking during family reunions, holidays, and Sunday family dinners. Whenever she would come into the family home with a covered pan, family and friends were filled with delight because they knew she had baked her famous peach cobbler. Not only was she a great cook, but she was also a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and she will be dearly missed.
