Mr. Jeffery Brown Sr.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jeffery Brown, Sr., who entered into his eternal resting place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 10, 1942, in the East End of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jeffery was the cherished son of the late Jim and Florence Brown and one of eight children. Jeffery dedicated 30 plus years of his life to his work at Smokey Hollow/Tennessee Pride, where he served as a Foreman in the processing meat department until his retirement in the early 2000s. His strong work ethic and leadership were admired by all who worked alongside him. Later in life, Jeffery embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the mid-2000s under the leadership of Pastor Prentice Dupins Sr. at Covenant Family Church. His faith brought him great peace and fulfillment in his later years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Irma Jean Brown; his parents, Jim and Florence Brown; his daughter Pamela Brown; his brothers Leslie Brown, Edward Brown, Luster Brown, and Cleophus Brown; and his sisters Carlise Harris, Bernice Jackson, and Carolyn Brown. Jeffery leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving children: Jeffery Brown Jr., Donna (David) Jackson, Gail Brown, Lorie Brown, Keith (Nicki) Barnes, Joe N. Gilkey Jr., Kelvin (Laquandra) Gilkey, Donald W. Gilkey Sr., Ronald Sr. (Charlen) Gilkey, Lisa (Dave) Williams, Mona Alexander-Gilkey, and Angela Gilkey. In addition to his children, Jeffery is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Jeffery was known for his loving, fun, and youthful spirit, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was a man who valued family above all else and made it his mission to spread love and positivity wherever he went. Though Jeffery is no longer with us, the memories we’ve all shared will forever remain in our hearts. Let’s honor his legacy by continuing to live with the same love, joy, and kindness that he showed us every day. We miss you, Jeffery, but your spirit will live on in everything we do.
