Mr. Donald Ray Altheimer

I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7 Donald Ray Altheimer was born on May 13, 1954, to the late Rowan, Sr. and Helen Hampton Altheimer in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the second of three sons. On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Donald peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home. Donald was of Catholic faith becoming a member of Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church in Little Rock, AR. Donald graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in 1972. He attended Fisk University, a HBCU in Nashville, TN and completed his undergraduate studies at Hendrix College in Conway, AR. While attending the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, AR, Donald left to fulfill his commitment to the United States Army entering with the rank of Captain. Donald was employed for several years with Entergy Corporation. His career took him from Little Rock to Texas where he held the position as Manager in Supplier Diversity and Development until his retirement in 2015. Donald married Karen McAfee and to this union three children were born (Adisa, Dara and Omari). He later married Corinne Lewis and to this union one child was born (Amadi Christopher). Donald later married René Hinton who cared for him during his extended illness. Donald enjoyed cross country travels, sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his grandparents, Rev. Silas and Mrs. Jeanette Altheimer and Mr. Oyama, Sr. and Mrs. Maude Hampton, sister-in-law, Mrs. Debra Altheimer, along with several aunts and uncles. Donald leaves to cherish his memory with his family and friends; his children, Adisa Altheimer of Houston, TX, Dara Altheimer of Winter Haven, FL, Omari Altheimer of Los Angeles, CA and Amadi Christopher Altheimer of Little Rock, AR; his brothers, Rowan J. Altheimer, Jr. of Oakland, CA and Silas H. Altheimer, Sr. of Little Rock, AR; aunts, Frankie (Norwood) Seymour of Little Rock, AR and Nellie Hampton of Little Rock, AR; nephews, Kwame Altheimer, Issa (Shauna) Altheimer and Bakari Altheimer all of Oakland, CA, and Silas Hampton Altheimer, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; grandsons, Joseph Lewis of Winter Haven, FL , Titan Altheimer and McKinley Green of Houston, TX; best friend, Eric Smiley of Houston, TX, special cousin, Kweli Tutashinda of Oakland, CA, ex-wife and dear friend René Altheimer of Houston, TX, her children and grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. We love Donald so so much. We are deeply saddened that he is gone but we thank God for the time we shared with him. Our precious memories of Donald will be with us until we meet again.
